In a letter to Health Minister Dr Kim Hames this week from the Community Advisory Council at Bentley Health Service (BHS), the Community Advisory Council are seeking answers as to exactly what is intended for the future of BHS, Member for Cannington, Bill Johnston said today.

Mr Johnston slammed reports of the Barnett Government’s proposed changes which will impact greatly on the future of Bentley Hospital.

“Both surgical and maternity services will be threatened by the proposed changes,” Mr Johnston said.

“In light of these reports, it is crucial Colin Barnett and Kim Hames disclose in full, their intentions on the future surgical and maternity services at BHS.

“These are vital services at Bentley Hospital and our community need to access health services close to where they live.

“On behalf of our local community, I demand Health Minister Kim Hames respond to the letter and re-assure our local community. It is totally unacceptable that the Barnett Government would even consider axing these essential services.”
