Hi, I’m Bill.

I’m the Member for Cannington and Minister for Mines and Petroleum, Energy and Corrective Services in Mark McGowan's Labor Government.

I live locally with my wife Kate, we have three kids and two grandkids. Before I was a member of Parliament, I worked as the state secretary of the Labor Party and as a union official representing retail workers before that.

If you live in Cannington, East Cannington, Queens Park, Beckenham, Langford, Ferndale, Lynwood, Parkwood or Wilson south of Leach Highway, then I am your local representative in State Parliament.

In the twelve years I’ve been working for our community in Parliament, it has become an even more vibrant and diverse place to live. There are people from forty nine different countries living here, and from the Sikh Heritage Trail in the Canning River Regional Park to the annual celebrations of Lunar New Year and Diwali Mela, it’s easy to see that multiculturalism is at the heart of our community.

We have some of the best schools in WA, first-class recreational facilities and great food and retail. The Canning River, or Dyarlgarro, runs down the middle of this area, outlined by the tranquil Canning River Regional Park which is cared for by our fantastic local land care organisations.

COVID-19 has made this year challenging for everyone in our community, but together we have put our State in an enviable position. The McGowan Labor Government has made many tough decisions to keep WA safe and strong, and now we can look towards recovery. Through our $5.5 billion WA Recovery Plan, we are creating a pipeline of work for West Australians to make sure we recover stronger than ever.

I’m here to help you with all kinds of State Government issues, and I always want to hear about what matters to you. Please don’t hesitate to send me a letter, email, or phone or drop in to my office.
